Festival pastors at latitude 2018

With the heat turned fully up and a record crowd expected at Latitude, Festival Pastors were once again on hand with their unique brand of help and support to the festival crowds. In addition to day patrols around the campsites, night patrols in the Woods Arenas and the coolness of the café, this year saw more entertainment and engagement in the café through resident artists and musicians.  The weekend was then topped off with our first Sunday Service in front of the café tent. Mixing contemporary worship music with testimonies from the festival and prayer, this was a fitting end to our time at Latitude 2018.

More than 80 people volunteered to work in the café, patrol as Pastors and support the event in prayer onsite.  Many more prayed for us through the event from home and in Town Pastor Prayer Bases across the county.  Some of the team stayed onsite behind the café/prayer base sleeping amongst the generators, others commuted in from home, digs, caravans and other accommodation around the area.

Feedback from the Pastors tells of many people helped practically, emotionally and spiritually through the weekend with interactions with other volunteers and staff, especially on the night patrols, very positive and appreciative.  BBC Radio Suffolk interviewed one of our Directors, Peter Livey, for the Lesley Dolphin show Sunday morning 16thJuly. Here is the whole show or listen to just the interview.

Will we do it again – absolutely!  If you are part of a local Town Pastor Team look out for next year’s appeal for volunteers and get in quick.  If this has inspired you to think about being a Town Pastor or Prayer Partner in your local scheme get in touch with them (see scrolling list of schemes on the main page). If you want to know how Town Pastors might operate in your town fill in the enquiry form at the bottom of the front page or send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots.
